Succes Stories

Recently Cheryl Hadsell shared a story at the office about the 2 girls that she advocates for.  They have had some significant challenges after being removed from their home but when she saw them for her December visit they were doing much better.  She talked about baking cookies with them and how patient they were and how intently they listened about how to bake cookies.  This is a large imporvement for these girls and a great accomplishment for them.  Sometimes it's the little things like baking cookies that can be a great memory for abused and neglected children and that's the kinds of things our volunteers do!

"I am in contact with my last case family who adopted the children in September.  I took lots of pictures at their adoption and made them a Shutterfly book.  On the last pages I had a picture of each girl with their new last names.  Yesterday the mom told me that she still 'gets butterflies' when she says those names.

"Last month I met the relative placement & my two kids at Mcdonald's.  This is a new case (July). When arriving the kids were playing in the McDonald's playground.  As soon as I walked outside the 5 yr old boy yelled--Hey Ms. Robyn.  that gave me such a warm fuzzy feeling to know he remembered me by name & wasn't afraid to say hello.  Sometimes the younger kids can be shy when dealing with new people."
